A small group of Chicago parents spent a second day Thursday camped out at City Hall demanding a meeting with Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
The parents, unhappy with the plan to close two underperforming schools and re-organize several others, drafted their own proposal to improve the schools.
They said they won't leave until Emanuel considers it.
"We're going to stay until what we want. And if we don't get what we want with this process, we have a lot of other means," said Shannon Bennett with the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization.
CPS?officials said they welcome input but can't accept failing schools.

A round of public meetings will be held Friday to discuss the proposed closings, consolidations and turnaround projects. Other meetings are scheduled for Jan. 20 and Jan. 23.
